The Bonnie Reiss Climate Action Student Fellowship program engages and energizes students in support of UC’s Carbon Neutrality Initiative goals of becoming carbon neutral by 2025 and helping to create a more equitable, resilient, sustainable and healthy world.

The University of California, a national leader in sustainability, launched the Carbon Neutrality Initiative (CNI) in 2013 with an aim of emitting net zero greenhouse gases from its activities, buildings, and vehicle fleets by 2025.

To encourage student engagement in the CNI and in general sustainability efforts at UC Davis, and to support work that students are doing to advance sustainable practices on the UC Davis campus, the Bonnie Reiss Climate Action Fellowship Program (formerly known as the Carbon Neutrality Initiative Fellowship Program) was created in Spring 2015. Fellowships are awarded to three outstanding undergraduate or graduate students every year.

Fellowship awards will be $4,000 each for a commitment of one academic year for the responsibilities outlined below. Funds are expected to be disbursed on a quarterly basis.

Application materials are due Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
