Event Date
Join us in exploring the past, present and future of community engagement at UC Davis and UC Davis Health. The Community Engagement Summit is a two-part series, which will strengthen and enhance our collective understanding of community engagement and identify practices to help us reduce health inequities, improve community partnerships and reimagine our role as a land-grant university.
Faculty and staff with an interest in community engagement are encouraged to attend the first event at the UC Davis Sacramento campus on June 8, 2023. The second event will be held in Fall 2023 on the UC Davis campus. We invite anyone who incorporates community engagement principles into their work, and those looking to expand their understanding of community engagement throughout the institution.
Each event will:
- Highlight the commitment to and importance of community engagement as a core part of the university's mission and strategic direction.
- Explore terms, definitions and best practices for community engagement that can inform programming, activities and planning.
- Develop an institutional framework and best practices in community engaged work.
Both events will feature programming that engages participants in critical conversations about community engagement at UC Davis and UC Davis Health. Through collaboration and input from participants, we will create a report outlining an institutional framework and best practices for community engagement. This report will be shared with the campus community and university leadership.
