Due to the financial challenges facing the University, the Office of Public Scholarship and Engagement will be phased out by June 30.

Sponsored by: The Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Social Science, Arts, and Humanities (CAMPSSAH) 

The Scholar of the Quarter is a new initiative that recognizes faculty at the Assistant or Associate ranks whose scholarship epitomizes engaged excellence, defined as scholarly or creative achievements that involve diverse communities with a commitment to social change. Successful applicants may have accomplished one or more of the following:

  1. Developed innovative curriculum which engages diverse student populations with collaborative work in communities
  2. Demonstrated long standing commitment to advocating on behalf of underserved communities
  3. Produced creative/scholarly work that brings awareness to critical issues facing marginalized communities locally or globally
  4. Conducted research that challenges “normative” disciplinary boundaries

Graduate students, post-docs, and faculty are invited to nominate faculty scholars.
