Event Date
The Community Engagement Summit will strengthen and enhance our collective understanding of community engagement and identify practices to help improve community partnerships and reimagine our role as a land-grant university.
Faculty and staff who incorporate community engagement principles into their work are encouraged to attend.
The summit will:
- Highlight the commitment to and importance of community engagement as a core part of the university's mission and strategic direction.
- Explore terms, definitions and best practices for community engagement that can inform programming, activities and planning.
- Provide feedback on ways to identify, evaluate and celebrate UC Davis community engagement.
During the summit, participants will engage in critical conversations about community engagement at UC Davis and UC Davis Health. Through collaboration and input from participants, we will create a report outlining university-wide recommendations from the summit. This report will be shared with the campus community and university leadership in 2024.
The October summit is the second event in a two-part series. The first summit was held June 8 at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. For more information about the June summit, read the UC Davis Health story about the event.
