This month IA is launching a new member's only Teaching and Learning Circle space called The Study Group! The Study Group is an intimate space for IA members to learn from leaders and peers in the IA network taking on the challenging and hopeful work of institutional culture change. We are honored to kick off this series with Dr. Rowena M. Tomaneng, President of San José City College and IA National Advisory Board member. This study session centers on the application of Social Movement Theory to change institutional cultures that are built upon racism and domination. The session will engage participants in conversation and reflection on the writings of activist scholars Grace Lee Boggs and Kristin Zimmerman and Julie Quiroz from Movement Strategy Center. Our session facilitator, Dr. Rowena M. Tomaneng, will also share lessons from her years of experience leading culture change for student equity within the California Community College system.
