Recruitment Announcement: Associate Vice Provost for Academic Programs

Public Scholarship and Engagement (PSE) is recruiting a tenured member of the UC Davis Academic Senate faculty to serve in a 75% time, three-year, administrative appointment as Associate Vice Provost for Academic Programs. Public Scholarship and Engagement functions as an academic unit on behalf of the Offices of the Chancellor and the Provost, under the direction of the Vice Provost of Public Scholarship.

The Associate Vice Provost for Academic Programs has primary responsibility for working with academic units, the Academic Senate and Federation, and serving as liaison to UC Davis faculty.

The Associate Vice Provost for Academic Programs oversees programs with strong connections to the university’s ten colleges and schools. In addition, the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Programs is expected to represent Public Scholarship when the Vice Provost is not available.

Recruitment Announcement: Graduate Student Researcher (GSR)

Public Scholarship and Engagement (PSE) is recruiting a motivated graduate student researcher (GSR) to join our team. We are seeking individuals with an interest and/or background in community engagement, higher education, public scholarship, organizational development, or other related fields. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience conducting literature reviews and possess skills in creative problem-solving, collaborative teamwork, and cross­ cultural communication.

The GSR’s primary responsibility is:  

  • Conducting literature reviews related to public scholarship, student learning, and community university partnerships.
  • Conducting research and preparing assessments of proposed programs and initiatives, including comparisons with peer institutions.
  • Assisting with events, meetings and workshops to present and solicit feedback on PSE programs and initiatives.

This is a minimum 2-quarter GSR appointment @ 25-50% FTE with a projected start date no later than the beginning of the 2020 spring quarter. Salary and equivalent GSR step will be commensurate with prior experience. The appointment includes a remission of fees, tuition and nonresident supplemental tuition (if applicable) in accordance with university policy.
