Resources for Teaching

To support UC Davis faculty during a time of COVID-19-related illness, quarantine, or campus closure, this website provides concise, practical resources and strategies for moving part or all of a course online to help you keep teaching. - Experiential Learning Sympa List
There are questions and challenges that arise around experiential learning opportunities during this time of uncertainty. In response to these and other issues, a virtual community of practice for staff and faculty is being created through an email listserv to raise issues, share resources, and discuss ways to ensure students are able to participate in experiential learning. - Teaching in Times of Crisis from the Center for Teaching at Vanderbilt
Whether local, national, or international in scope, times of crisis can have a significant impact on the college classroom. The resulting anxieties students—and teachers—bring into the classroom in response to a crisis can affect student learning, as documented by psychological, cognitive, and neuroscience research. A 2007 survey by Therese A. Huston and Michelle DiPietro reveals that “from the students’ perspective, it is best to do something. There are many possibilities for how to address a crisis in class, from activities that take only a moment to restructuring your entire course, and plenty in between.

The Internship and Career Center is open remotely and ready to help students who are looking for part-time or temporary jobs. The center’s “Quick Hire” list has local/regional opportunities for immediate staffing needs to provide essential services during the national health crisis. - Virtual Community Engaged Learning Programs

Because of your proactive response, people throughout the region are receiving vital assistance they need. We know you need volunteers, and we want to help -- find volunteers through the UC Davis Community Service Resource Center (CSRC). This student-run unit within the Internship and Career Center(ICC) has a significant network and can help connect you to volunteer students, staff, and faculty. Whether your volunteer opportunities are virtual or in-person, we can help you connect. The State of California has created a website listing COVID-19 resources for businesses and employees. Information is available on how to apply for unemployment, disability benefits, paid family leave, and small business assistance. - Philanthropy California COVID-19 Response
Philanthropy California is an alliance of Northern California, Southern California, and San Diego Grantmakers. Philanthropy California’s disaster resilience team is coordinating with state agencies and partners to respond to the threat and potential impacts of COVID-19/Coronavirus. We will be vetting funds, providing recommendations, and supporting our community with safety tips. Check this page for updates on philanthropy’s response to the pandemic.
