Submitter Information

  • Name: Your name as the person who logged in to the data tool.
  • EPPN: (EduPersonPrincipalName) This is auto-filled for the person who logged in.
  • Email: The email address that the form submission confirmation will be emailed to.

Program/Opportunity Information

  • Type: The type of program/opportunity being presented. (Please refer to the list of program/opportunity types below.)
  • Campus: This is auto-filled by your campus designation when you log in.
  • UC Department or School: The campus school or department, center or institute that sponsors or administers the program (if you do not see your UC affiliated entity, please type it in and the entry will append to the existing list)
  • Title: The official title of the program/opportunity
  • Website: Copy and paste the URL for the program/opportunity website.
  • Start and end dates: Estimate starts dates you are not sure of—but please try to be as accurate as possible. Provide end dates where available. This will allow programs to automatically expire and not require your team to track them.
  • Intended audience: The people this program/opportunity is intended to serve.
  • Expected Participation: The estimated number of participants this program/opportunity serves on an annual basis (both UC Davis affiliates and the general public).

Types

  • Course: A class led by UC faculty for academic credit with a community-based learning component. 
  • Innovation (AB 2664): A program that fulfills the requirements of AB2664 to support innovation. Check with your campus Government Relations Directors (GRDs) for details on the requirements.
  • Internship: A student internship opportunity on/off campus that interfaces with a non-university organization, or a program defined as an internship that offers UC credit to program facilitators or staff.
  • Grant/Award: A funded grant or recognition award.
  • Partnership/Sponsorship: An ongoing formal or informal alliance between a UC entity and a non-UC entity or a program/opportunity that is sponsored by a UC entity.
  • Program/Project: An ongoing collaboration between a UC entity and non-UC entity with specific goals and objectives or a program run by a UC entity designed to serve the general public; a project with a limited time frame but specific goals and objectives.

Categories

  • Access, Equity and Justice: Programs/opportunities that reduce barriers to access services addressing basic needs and promoting equity and social justice through advocacy work or provision of services.
  • Arts, Language and Cultural Resources: Programs/opportunities that expose individuals to art, language and culture or involve student learning through language translation services.
  • Communication and Media: Programs/opportunities that incorporate storytelling through journalism, digital and traditional media or archiving projects.
  • Community College Student Services: Programs/opportunities focusing on increasing the number of students prepared for transfer to UC and other 4-year institutions.
  • Community Development and Social Services: Programs/opportunities that aim to help individuals, families and communities to enhance their individual and collective well-being and promote equity and opportunity in communities.
  • Continuing and Professional Education (non-teacher): Programs/opportunities related to workforce training, including University Extension programs. This includes partnership programs with UC departments to assist and encourage lifelong learning for community members.
  • Economic Development, Business and Entrepreneurship: Programs/opportunities focused on bringing together local businesses and individuals to promote civic engagement and community economic development.
  • Energy and Sustainability: Programs/opportunities related to energy systems that promote a healthy environment and provide Californians with affordable, reliable and safe energy choices. This includes renewable energy, conservation and sustainability, community recycling, global warming and climate change, among other programs.
  • Environment and Conservation: Programs/opportunities focused on environmental protection and conservation of natural resources such as water, land, soil, plants, and animals.
  • Food and Agriculture: Programs/opportunities providing curriculum or staff training to non-university entities focused on food systems or agricultural extension.
  • Global and Cultural Exchange: Programs/opportunities that foster interaction between people from different backgrounds and cultures or have a global learning component.
  • Health, Nutrition and Medicine: Programs/opportunities with a health and/or nutrition education purpose that improve health literacy and/or provide access to medical and dental services - for humans and animals.
  • PreK-12 Student Services: Programs/opportunities implemented in elementary, middle and high schools, including programs helping high school students complete a college preparatory curriculum and/or STEM study preparation.
  • Law, Government and Public Policy: Programs/opportunities that raise awareness of legal, regulatory or public policy issues impacting communities or provide advocacy training.
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics: Programs/opportunities related to all things science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
  • Teacher Preparation and Professional Development: Programs/opportunities that provide professional development to teachers as well as programs focused on providing preparation for teachers-in-training.

Location Information

  • Street: The street number and name of where the program is located. If not available, an intersection (3rd Avenue and Rose Street) or site name (Maxwell Park) will often, but not always, work for mapping the location.
  • City: The city where the program is located.
  • Zip Code: The zip code associated to the street address provided.
  • State: This will usually be in California but we encourage including programs outside of California for a comprehensive cataloging of UC’s community programs. Programs outside of California will not be included in the UC in CA website but may be highlighted in other products. This option also allows your campus to use this system for cataloging all of your programs for your own benefit.
  • Latitude and Longitude: Note-if you click “show on map” after inputting the address information above, the latitude and longitude fields will autofill if the location can be located. Otherwise, these fields may be completed in lieu of the above address information if an address is not available OR the program is offshore and you are able to locate the latitude and longitude from your records or using an online map service.
