How to Apply for a Community Partner Recognition Grant
Applications open on November 21, 2024, and will be reviewed until funds are expended. Applicants must fill out the application form, which includes applicant information (name, email, phone, campus affiliation, title) and the following information:
- Activity Information
- Activity title, start/stop date, type of activity;
- Description of activity and anticipated outcomes, including how community partner participation strengthens the activity;
- How community voices and input are integrated;
- How the activity is community centered and/or mutually beneficial;
- Names and affiliated organizations of community partners;
- Budget and budget narrative: Please use the budget worksheet and list itemized expenses. Provide a one to two paragraph description justifying the budget request and describe how the grant will be used to recognize the work of community partners working on university activities. Matching funds are not required, but if the proposed activities have resources from other sources please indicate those in the budget worksheet.

- Who can apply for the Community Partner Recognition Grants?
- UC Davis or UC Davis Health faculty or staff can apply for a grant to recognize their partners’ work.
- Who is eligible to receive the funds?
- Funds will be transferred to the faculty or staff applicant and should be used to recognize community partners involved in community-university collaborations with community-based organizations or individuals.
- How much funding can be requested?
- Applicants can request up to $1,500 for their proposed activities. The exact amount awarded will depend on the budget request and application review.
- What types of activities are eligible for funding?
- Activities that focus on community benefit, integrate community voices into university initiatives, and prioritize equity and inclusion are eligible. Special consideration is given to projects involving partners who serve historically underrepresented or underserved communities.
- How can the grant funds be used?
- Funds can be used to reduce barriers to participation for community partners by covering expenses such as refreshments, parking, mileage reimbursement, professional development opportunities, etc. Funds cannot be used to compensate research participants or for event sponsorships.

- How will the applications be evaluated?
- Applications will be reviewed based on the project's focus on community benefit, the integration of community voices, and the prioritization of equity and inclusion. The proposed budget and alignment with program goals are also key factors. Please note that not all proposals will receive full funding.
